Inspired by the lure of new experiences, Jon started his passport stamps with a trip to Europe following High School. Spending a little over a month traveling through Eastern Europe, Jon found the experience to be more satisfying then ever imagined. Hitting as many countries as time and his bank account would allow the trip flew by leaving a lifelong lasting impression, immediately following his first sojourn, Jon found himself packing up again for a whole new adventure, a day after his plane landed he found himself in college where his sense of adventure only increased.

Taking part in numerous clubs and outdoor adventures, his love for the outdoors only expanded. Rock climbing, caving and kayaking began to fill his weekends and it wasn't long before he found himself wanting to expand his horizons. Trips to Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, for a weekend of climbing in the world famous Red River Gorge made up perfect excuses to skip out the on campus party and pack the car up.

Taking the advice of his brothers and colleagues It wasn't long before Jon ended up in Australia on a 7 month sojourn which would end up having him crisscross the country, discovering brand new crags, skydiving, surfing and anything ocean oriented Australia was a perfect experience.

Since his first trip following high school, Jon has traveled through the Netherlands, France, Germany, Australia, Fiji, and Honduras. It was while in Honduras that Jon got into Scuba, after spending a brief 10 days on a winter visit, Scuba was a perfect addition to his regiment of outdoor activities.

In the winter of 2005, Jon and Carl teamed up to found TerraMar Adventures to offer a paradise for those seeking a new kind of travel.
