Winter Clydesdale Ride—trail ride, carriage ride, and bonfire

We’re headed back to a local Clydesdale ranch on Saturday, January 11, at 11:00 a.m., for a winter trail ride, carriage ride, barn tour and bonfire.
Clydesdales are extremely powerful but gentle giants, used as carriage animals around the world, because of their strength and hardiness. They also are one of the most sure-footed of animals.
Recognized by thousands as the Budweiser horse breed, these animals are incredibly docile, beautiful, and HUGE (measuring over 18 hands tall and weighing upwards of 2000 pounds). We've worked with the ranch owners to put together a unique afternoon for you and the horses! We’ve selected the start of January in the hopes that there will be snow on the ground.
Based upon the skill level and size of our group, we likely will be split into two smaller groups. The first group will begin with a trail ride. We’ll saddle up these powerful creatures for a 45 minute trail ride through the beautiful scenery of the ranch. You need not worry if you have no horseback riding experience. You will receive a brief introduction to riding and your horse.
While the first group is tackling the trail, the second group will start with a barn tour—where you will learn about what it takes to breed, raise and train a Clydesdale. This part of your experience will require approximately 45 minutes.
After each group has taken up the trail, toured the barn and learned a bit about raising and breeding Clydesdales, we will hop aboard a Clydesdale-drawn carriage for a winter ride through the adjoining trails. We will end our afternoon at picnic area with a campfire where you can relax, warm-up and enjoy your own brown bag lunch, a hot beverage, and s’mores!
Price: $125.00, includes all arrangements and logistics, credit card fees, carriage ride, barn tour, 45 minute guided trail ride on a Clydesdale, TerraMar guide certified in wilderness first aid and CPR, and all-you-can-eat smores!
The specific address and directions of the meet-up location will be provided only to registered participants. The first 20 to register and pay will go.
