Second Week of Broad Street Training

This is our second week. It is not too late to join the team. If you can run 3 miles without stopping, join up and get in shape while making friends.
Are you ready to push ourselves to our strongest and best, to do things most people not only have not done but cannot do? Do you want to train with friends new and old?
Once again, we will be getting together to form a training team for the Broad Street Run and the ODDyssey Half Marathon. The Broad Street Run is on May 5, 2013 and is the best 10 mile run in the entire country. Then, we will keep going, training for just five more weeks to conquer the ODDyssey Half Marathon on June 9, 2013.
Join our team and train together to kick some butt this year. This is the best way to get yourself into shape for the summer adventure season. Last year we had more than 60 people on the team. So, there was always someone to run with, we made amazing new friends and we whipped ourselves into shape. Who could ask for anything more?

Today, we will run 3 miles and get our team going. More advanced runners will run 7-10 miles. To get ready for today, just make sure you can run 3 miles or 30 minutes, 3 times per week. We will take it from there.
The following is an initial schedule for our training team:
2/23/12 (Saturday), 10am:
what: 3 mile run and "get to know" the team
where: Lloyd Hall (the public boathouse on boathouse row, right behind the Art Museum and next to the Waterworks)
every Saturday following, 10am:
what: long run day
where: either from LLoyd Hall or location to be determined (I will try to arrange a few runs from local parks like Valley Forge or Clay Creek).
The program will also include 2-3 workouts per week (depending on your fitness level and goals) which will be on your own. I will try to create a database of team members so you can find other team members to work out with for the other weekly workouts.
Cost: $69 for the program. This includes the training program and individual training from the coach, a technical team jersey made from fast wicking fibers suitable for running long distances, invaluable team camaraderie, organized weekly group runs, and snacks and water at all group runs. This does not include your entry fee to the races.
