Paunacussing Preserve

As you know, here at TerraMar we like to give back.  For a club that loves hiking so much, there is no better way to give back than to get our hands dirty and help out wild places.

Paunacussing Preserve is one of the newer preserves in Pennsylvania.  Originally a working farm, the Natural Lands Trust has preserved the land forever and thanks to mother nature and the hard efforts of volunteers like you, Paunacussing is becoming wilder and wilder … Over the last three years they have converted a man-made pond to a vibrant wetland and agricultural fields back to forest.

We are partnering with the Trust to continue the preserve’s transformation by planting 3,000 trees. We need your help! Bring your friends, bring your family, heck bring the guy you met on Ok Cupid.  Just come out and join us to help create forest habitat for all our region’s wild things.

Please wear sturdy shoes or boots. Bring your work gloves and water bottles. You will enjoy breakfast and lunch with Natural Lands Trust staff.

The parking area for Paunacussing Preserve is located at 3539 Holicong Road, Mechanicsville, PA 18902. Follow signs to the parking area; please respect the neighbors and park in the designated area only.

We are asking for a small donation to attend this meetup.  Unfortunately, we have found that if we do not require payment, internet signups tend to no-show at a rate of 50% or more.  So, we want to know that you are invested in the event so we can count on you to be there.  All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Natural Lands Trust.
