It was awesome last time, and I can't wait to go again. This one is so much fun :)
As a single engine airplane pilot, I always looked at my fellow pilots behind the controls of a helicopter with a certain amount of respect; it takes some guts to fly in something with no wings... now it's time for you to try it for yourself!
This is your chance to find out if being a helicopter pilot is what you were meant to be, even if only for a single day. We are going to being taking an intro course at a local school that has trained the likes of most every TV helicopter pilot as well as medi-vac, pleasure flight, and former military pilots.
A typical student would pay roughly $400.00 for the ground school lesson and the opportunity to fly the helicopter, by joining into groups we are able to reduce that price significantly and give you a shot at taking the controls of one of these bad boys.
The day is going to be broken up into two groups, so we will likely have people show up in shifts. The class will begin with a 20 to 30 minute ground school lesson covering the physics of flight, why choppers stay up, and of course safety. After the ground school wraps up we will head to the tarmac to jump into a dual control Helicopter for a 20 minute flight... and once we are up, you take the controls!
Morning ground school class will start promptly at 10:00 AM, with flights occurring at roughly 10:45, 11:05, 11:25, and 11:45. Then the morning group is free to go as you please.
The afternoon group will begin ground school class at 1:00 PM, with flights occurring at 1:45. 2:05, 2:25, and 2:45.
We do ask that everyone shows up 30 mins prior. Classes will start at 10am sharp so plan your Friday night accordingly.
When you RSVP please email us with your preferred time (Morning or Afternoon) and we will do our best to accommodate.
Location details: As always, details are sent to paid attendees a few days ahead of time. This event is roughly 45-60min outside of Philly.
Cost includes: Professionally-taught helicopter ground school and flight lesson, approx 20min in the chopper, all logistics, all credit card fees, guide trained in CPR and Wilderness First Aid, snacks and water.
Skill Level: 7 or 8. It takes some nerve, but you will love it!
