Description: Join us for hiking and camping in what may be Pennsylvania's prettiest state park. We all love waterfalls, and spread across 13,050 acres deep in the Poconos, Ricketts Glen is a waterfall hunter's paradise. And what better way to spend a sunny summer weekend than with camping? Ricketts Glen has it all: hiking, camping (one of the two camping areas is on a peninsula extending into the lake), swimming, fishing, canoeing and kayaking on 245-acre Lake Jean.
Details:
Saturday: Those arriving Saturday morning will set up camp, and we'll all leave for a difficult, but stunning day hike along the waterfalls by 11am. We'll spend the day exploring the hiking trails, then head back to camp for dinner and s'mores around the campfire!
Sunday: The park has all sorts of different activities you're welcome to explore on Sunday. Go on another hike, sit on the beach and soak up the sun, rent a kayak and paddle around Lake Jean, anything you'd like! The day is wide open.
Here is the link to the park http://www.dcnr.state... You are responsible for providing your own tent, sleeping bag, and eating utensils. However, if you ask nicely we may have tents to loan/share!
Cost includes: two guides certified in Wilderness First Aid; all group tenting campsite fees; lunch and dinner on Saturday; breakfast and lunch on Sunday; firewood; snacks and water.
