Our surf and turf adventure spends 4 days relaxing on the cayes, long known for their excellent diving and easy access to the Blue Hole, one of diving's premier sites made famous by Jacques Cousteau himself. The expedition then heads off into the jungle where adventurers can hike to long lost ruins of the Mayan empire or spelunk into the shrines of their underworld. Day and overnight tours are also available to Tikal, the premier Mayan ruins in Central America.
Belize's beautiful coast is home to the second longest barrier reef in the world. Second in size only to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, this reef runs all the way from Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula to the north coast of Honduras, protecting the entire length of Belize's shoreline and offering unlimited access for underwater adventure.
Hundreds of islands and cays follow the barrier reef offering all ranges of access to stunning dives along shallow reefs, towering pinnacles and plummeting walls.
Lighthouse Reef is home to Belize's most famous dive site, the Blue Hole, a colossal underwater cave that's ceiling collapsed forming a sinkhole 1000 feet in diameter and 408 feet deep, and revealing a circling overhang at 120 ft. with stalactites and stalagmites, caverns and caves that appear to be from another world.
Belize's recently paved highways, easy to use public transportation, and English as the national language, make it one of Central America's most accessible adventure destinations. With a distinctly Caribbean lifestyle, Belize has a laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to leave your normal routine behind.
